Zifir are a valuable black metal band formed in 2006 in İzmir, Turkey, by Onur Önok and Onur Sülen; after the latter left in 2011, the group is now a trio. Zifir's music has always been characterized by a certain mysticism clearly noticeable in the vibes of all their albums. Unlike other Turkish or Middle Eastern bands, Zifir seem to rely on a sound background mostly inspired by the second wave of black metal. This is showcased in the latest album Demoniac Ethics, which does not differ much from Zifir's previous works, even if the song-writing seems perfected and that tendency to mysticism seems accentuated and sometimes lends an almost esoteric tone to the general atmosphere. A perfect example is, in my opinion, track 6 “An Eerie Moment”; “Chaos Clouds” exemplifies instead the typically slow, powerful, obsessive, relentless style of the Turkish band. Aggressive guitars and non-triggered drums give a sense of primitiveness to this album that I warmly recommend everyone to listen to.
