Wolves in the Throne Room (USA): "Thrice Woven"

After the instrumental, ambient album Celestite from 2014, American Wolves in the Throne Room have returned to the origins, i.e.  that kind of intense, atmospheric, poetic black metal full of a mystical feeling for nature, better known as Cascadian black metal, of which Wolves in the Throne Room are the most prominent exponents. It was certainly a good move: the latest album Thrice Woven is a masterpiece. The band has returned to the origins, as mentioned, but at the same time has expanded its soundscape: if you are an old fan of theirs you will surely recognise their style, but you will also be caught in a complex structure of wonderful harmonies. This album is unmissable.
