In recent years, the American scene has continuously produced good black metal bands, and Woe, founded in 2007 in New Jersey but now apparently based in New York, is further evidence of this. So far, Woe has produced four full-length albums, all highly praised by critics and audience. Their most recent release is the EP A Violent Dread containing two captivating tracks of melodic black. While both the song might sometimes sound slightly manneristic, on the other hand, the work of the two intertwining guitars is very good, the arrangements are also good, and they create enthralling riffs and tunes. Maybe this EP is the prelude to a full length, and I can't wait to listen to it. In short, if you don't know Woe, don't miss the chance!
