Urfeind (Germany): “Þurisabloþa”

​Goodness gracious, what an album! This is pure violence! The sophomore album by German Urfeind is perhaps the most extreme, obscure, and sinister album released in 2020. For the uninitiated, Urfeind is a German band that we have already talked about here on Unholy (last month an interview with mastermind Skadwaz was published). Everything on the new album Þurisabloþa is full of an eeire and impenetrable atmosphere; Urfeind's music is in fact an arcane ritual: the title suggests that the lyrical themes revolve around the Thursian path. All the album is stunning, but I find the two slow paced songs “Rise of Niðhæggr“ and “The Nothing“ particularly bewitchering.  I cannot but highly recommend this album especially to those who want to listen to something extreme and vigorous.

Þurisabloþa was released on February 21, 2020 through Vamamarga Conjurations. Vocals on track 1 by Skandaz of Nawaharjan, another German Thursian band.
