Tranquillizer (Germany): “Des Endes Anfang”

​Tranquillizer are a melodic death / black metal band formed in 2008 from Frankfurt an der Oder, Germany; after the Blutrot EP in 2011, the band released its first full length Des Endes Anfang in 2015. While listening to the album, one thinks to great Swedish bands like Dark Tranquillity and Dissection: intertwined polyphonic guitars that alternate with groove moments. The five German musicians show a certain technical mastery, but despite their good efforts, you cannot help but get the feeling of a certain mannerism at times cloying. Good points are the musicianship and the good production, but otherwise the album, albeit well crafted, is almost unimpressive; but if you are an inveterate fan of melodic death / black metal, this can certainly be an album for you.
