The newest album by the French quintet is EOD: A Tale of Dark Legacy. It is a concept album completely based on The Shadow over Innsmouth, the horror novel by American writer Lovecraft from 1931. Lovecraft's infamous grotesque imagery permeates deeply the inspiration of the French quintet, creating an alienated and morbid soundscape that is deeply rooted in atmospheric post-black metal background of the band. Think, for example, about the first two minutes of “When the Stars Align” or the long poem “Mare Infinitum”. The production is a Season of Mist production, so there is not much to say about it.
To sum it up, this is one of the best releases of 2017, a majestic and unique masterpiece that everyone should listen to.
