Temple of Evil were formed in 2008 in Nicosia, Cyprus. After a seven-year silence, the band released the first album The 7th Awakening that delivers plain but furious raw black metal. The Cypriot band do their job very well by also including melodic elements in the generally harsh and sinister context. The sung, together with some solemn choirs of mass, evokes an occult and perverse atmosphere. All in all a good release, although perhaps not impressive.
