Temple of Decay (Poland): “Last Manifestation of Life”

Sometimes the underground black metal scene can offer something refreshing for our hunger for black metal. One example is the debut EP Last Manifestation of Life by Polish one-man-band Temple of Decay. The mastermind of this project is Mortt, a talented multi-instrumentalist responsible for all the music and production of the EP. Last Manifestation of Life is deeply rooted in black metal sound but blends it with death metal and even thrash metal sounds. I would say this EP is a synopsis of all the best in extreme music. Mortt continually creates aggressive and feral riffs embedding them into complex melodic and rhythmic textures and also varied patterns. Therefore, you can be sure that the flow of the music is always 100% compelling; you will hear different layers of guitar evolving in a continually surprising and unpredictable way, while the rhythm section is still solid. In short, this is a great release and is highly recommended.
