The very good EP created high expectations around the band, and it was a first manifestation of that type of studied, elaborated melodic black metal which is the trademark of the band. Pyres tries to expand even more the band's soundscape, and you will notice that it is characterized by the influence of different styles. The band's musicians are very professional and do their best to amalgamate these styles, also thanks to an excellent sound production. Overall, the approach is melodic, even in the harshest moments; the album is very beautiful and interesting, though not very straightforward and intense. For this reason, it may require more than one listen and a certain amount of patience and concentration to get into it. You will be rewarded in the end, since the album is beautiful, not exciting though.
