Spectral Wound (Canada): “Infernal Decadence”

If you have missed this band, you should definitely listen to it. Spectral Wound are a typical Canadian band; if you have listened to Canadian black metal before, you will recognize that typical brand that many Canadian bands have. It's that fusion of dreamy melodies and ferocious, furious aggression. Spectral Wound do this perfectly. Formed in Montreal, the Canarese quintet has so far released two albums Terra Nullius and Infernal Decadence respectively, the second of which being a memorable album. From its very first riff you are mesmerized until the last note; Infernal Decadence also has a lot of variety in the tempos, and my favorite is the slow-paced “Imperial Thanatosis”, but the hammering “Woods from Which the Spirits Once So Loudly Howled”. With a great sound and a great production, Infernal Decadence is a true refreshing masterpiece.
