This is the story of a band dismantled after only one album. American Sjukdom, not to be confused with the Norwegian band of the same name, were formed in 2015 in Cascadia, Oregon. The origin of the band makes it easy to guess what their style is, even though Sjukdom do not show the mawkishness typical of the other bands of the Cascadian genre, such as Deafheaven. Their only album Nodus Tollens displays solid black metal and good potential. Pity.

Nodus Tollens was independently released on August 31 2017. According to Metal Archives, in 2018 the band decided to call it quits to pursue other musical avenues with other their other projects. Sjukdom translates for 'illness' in Norwegian and Swedish.
