Siechtum (Germany): “...durch die Augen einer gequälten Seele”

​This band is somewhat atypical, and a pig is not what we traditionally associate with black metal iconography. Siechtum is a solo-project started in 2005 by Waheela in Eberswalde, Germany. This band has three albums out, all released between 2015 and 2017. ...durch die Augen einer gequälten Seele is the latest one and presents ecocentric black metal, that is raw black metal strongly focused on ecology in opposition to the Bible's anthropocentrism. The title of the album translates for ‘seen through the eyes of a tortured soul’ and is a concept: the main theme is hatred for mankind through the eyes of a pig. These topics are very interesting to me; this misanthropy is rendered in sound through a very raw production. Essentially it is raw black metal with slight black'n roll influences (Fäulnis or Motörhead in primis), crafted with honesty and pure passion. Give it a listen.

...durch die Augen einer gequälten Seele was released on January 23 2017 on Depressive Illusions Records as CD 66 copies. Siechtum translates for ‘infirmity’ and refers to the decay of human civilization.
