Harsh and obscure are two words that may well describe the self-titled debut album by Swedish band Prygla, a new band about which not much is known. The album delivers black metal in eight devastating, wild, unpretentious tracks: only one song is longer than five minutes, and the total duration does not reach the threshold of thirty minutes. The Swedish band goes straight to the point with solid and compact songs, showcasing a generally furious approach alongside melodious moments, while the abrasive growl adds eerie and gloomy atmospheres. This first Prygla album sounds very primordial but also very rich and intense; besides, its plain structure also makes it easy to listen to, which is not bad. Prygla has certainly made a considerable effort, and their first work is a must. Enjoy it!
