On their Bandcamp page, the band describes itself as “delivering raw, minimal and cold Black Metal with scorn! No fancy dresses, no professionalism, no futile gimmicks. Only pure Black Metal!” This description is pretty concise and perfect. The album is very harsh, but it also has a certain melody, while the sound is raw and typically underground. The listeners of this album always feel that an obscure and unfriendly atmosphere is being emanated from the loudspeakers. I would say that Aura of Suffering also shows some influence from their fellow-countrymen Sargeist and Graveborne.
Far from being original, Perdition Winds have the quality of being uncompromising and never banal in their music, while the lyrics are mostly about antireligion; Aura of Perdition is a very good and fairly varied album and it will definitely appeal to the fans of pristine and pure black metal.
