In the first decade of 2000, a Finnish guy known as Sami started a one-man band called File of Ghosts and the genre was industrial black / death metal; after two demos and the full-length Grey Metal, in 2011, Sami decided to change the name of his project to Ofghost. As Ofghost, Sami's band has released four full-lengths and recently a compilation. The latest album is titled The Awakening and is still in the same vein as Sami's first band File of Ghosts, very reminiscent of Norwegian Thorns. This album has something for everyone, no matter if you are a Black Metal or Death Metal fan. It has brute in your face strength and seamlessly moves from chilling aggressive fast parts to slower atmospheric sections. The album flows really well from song to song, arranged in a way that keeps the listener’s attention. A guitar and riff driven album, with alternating bouts of agonizing screams and sinister croaks, pounding tempo, and doom-laden riffing that make it the perfect capstone to a damn enjoyable album.
