Nothing happens on this EP; the first proper song, which is the second track, “Ob Irae Pestis” is exemplary: repetitive, monotonous, flat, no trace of arrangements, two or three simple riffs placed one after the other throughout the song. They also try something different such as slower and groovy tempos in “Just a Corpse”, or a melodic approach as in “Vermin”; but it is too little. The alternation between guttural growl and shrill scream does not seem to help either. The music may not be cutting-edge, but the Italian guys do not do anything to save the situation, and the bad sound production worsens everything. Furthermore, it seems that Nevrast have completely forgot to do the mixing, since the scream of singer and bassist Voragh is low and covered by the guitars, a kind of in the background. Unfortunately, bad productions and poor-quality sounds seem to be a flaw of several Italian bands.
To summarize, there is a lot to work on for Nevrast for next time!
