Swedish blackmetallers Myronath is a new band in the local scene even though they are formed by experienced members from several other Swedish underground bands. Launched in 2019, the group has recently released their second album Djevelkraft. It pays tribute to contemporary Swedish black metal bands, such as Avslut, with their vitriolic melodiousness, but also old classics, as in the Dissectionian acoustic intro of “The Sword of Satan”, my favorite track. Myronath's songs have a relatively complex structure and continually vary the tempo and riffing in the same song; it goes without saying that, like all Swedish bands, Myronath also has excellent, polished production. Although the album is overall top-notch, it nevertheless fails to achieve grandeur and brilliance. Nonetheless, Djevelkraft is an excellent release that certainly deserves attention. So give it a listen!
