Germany has a huge underground scene that we have often explored in these pages. On this occasion I will tell you about Verbrannte Erde (transl. Burned Earth), a split between two interesting young German bands: Mavorim and Totenwache.
Mavorim (tracks 1-3) is a one-man band founded in 2014 by P.; so far this act has released a demo, en EP and has participated in two splits including the present. The genre is a kind of pagan black metal that sometimes reminds of Swedish Arckanum.
Totenwache (tracks 4-6) are a trio from Hamburg active since 2017; so far they have only released a demo before this splitthe trio delivers black metal with melodic elements that are vaguely reminiscent of Gorgoroth.
In short, Verbrannte Erde is a genuine and evil display of the deepest underground. The bands are both unsigned, so labels, don’t miss’em!
