Lustre (Sweden): “Ashes of Light”

Ashes of Light, the new album by renowned Swedish atmospheric black metal project Lustre anticipated a couple of months ago, is now out. Lustre, active since 2008 launched by Nachtzeit as a solo project, it has become a trademark for the ethereal, romantic, dreamy sound, the soft, or almost absent guitars, and the massive presence of synths. The new album does not present any news from this point of view compared to previous records; the sound is that of Lustre. So if you are looking for a typical aggressive black metal album, look elsewhere. This album is made to transport you on a bittersweet emotional experience of melancholy and aerial visions. Let's face it; it's honeyed and sentimental enough to make you dream and cry teardrops of sadness, loneliness, melancholy, or whatever it may be. If you are into this, then Ashes of Light is the album for you.
