Kvalvaag is a very interesting Norwegian duo formed in Oslo in 2012. The band produces black metal and explores all the expressive possibilities displayed by Norwegian black metal especially in the 90’s. Their third album Seid is a good example; apart from the title the band proves to have reached a high degree of artistic maturity and a good originality. Their sound has folk elements, but it is possible to actually recognize echoes of historical bands like Arcturus, Troll and Gehenna, of which the album contains a cover. To conclude, Seid is a great album and I recommend it to all lovers of trve Norwegian black metal.
