Today, on the day of the summer solstice, an album celebrating the cold was released. The band is called Kold from Denmark, and the EP is also called Kold, a Danish word meaning “cold”. From an iconographic point of view, the band is quite eloquent about their favorite theme: on the cover stands a frozen, desolate and deserted landscape. We can say that this is what the whole album is about. Never as in this case has nature been the mirror of the soul. Kold is an immense and intense album that unfolds all the desolation and coldness of the soul. It is a masterpiece of both black metal and depressive black metal, since both of them can be valid listening keys. This album is also genuine because it does not whine or use trite stereotypes. Kold is one of the best black metal releases of this year; listen, close your eyes, and feel the pain.
