Beautiful atmospheric black metal split from Wolfspell Records between Finnish Kalmankantaja and Swedish Oþalan. The first two songs are the work of the Finns, an overactive depressive / atmospheric black metal band founded in 2011 and with already nine full length albums out, two of whom were released after this split. The two tracks of Kalmankantaja are melodious, melancholic and evocative, unlike the remaining three tracks of Oþalan; the Swedes, that also offer atmospheric black metal but with a more aggressive approach, made their debut with this split.
Good production, accurate composition, this split is perhaps not the most original one, but it is really very well done, and therefore highly recommended.
