Jade is a trio formed by musicians from both Spain and Germany with experience in established underground bands such as Graveyard, Ataraxia, Foscor, Altarage. The Smoking Mirror EP is their first release ever and delivers around 22 minutes of dense sound experience. As mentioned above, the triumvirate that makes up the band comes from a fertile background, which is conspicuously reflected in Smoking Mirror. It is an admirable meeting of different styles in a sinister and morbid musical mass that charms the listener. The moniker of the band refers to a mineral, generally green in color, used by many prehistoric civilizations in different ritualistic contexts, and spiritualism, mysticism, alchemy and occultism are in fact the main themes of the lyrics. To conclude, Smoking Mirror by Jade is a very interesting work, even more so if you think that it is only the first release of Jade and presages great prospects. Highly recommended.
