Siberian atmospheric black metal duo Grima is back with their third long-player Will of the Primordial, which is the perfect sequel to the acclaimed Tales of the Enchanted Woods from 2017. For those who do not know, Grima is a promising atmospheric black metal band from Krasnoyarsk (Russia) founded in 2014 with already three albums out, the last of which, released last summer, is a true masterpiece of the atmospheric genre with the addition of well-amalgamated folk elements.
Will of the Primordial begins with a few accordion notes that will captivate you immediately, and from that moment on, you are kidnapped on a journey into the mysticism of nature. It will make you experience all possible emotions: an incredible balance between harsh roughness and melodic brilliance, fragile elegance combined with bleak hardship, melancholy combined with furious vocals. The album is a hymn to the cold, to nature, to the forests, and the impenetrable mystery of the winter landscape:
“Where the black footprint is left,
Raven stomps the white snow,
Trees surround me like a ring.
There's no hope the light will break on through
