Grafvitnir is another one of those bands whose new album has not been talked about much. From Stockholm, Sweden, Grafvitnir has existed since 2007 and has already released seven albums so far, thus demonstrating good productivity. However, it must be said that the new album Death's Wings Widespread does not differ much from the previous ones, that is, old school, straightforward black metal direct. As is in the style of the Stockholm band, Death's Wings Widespread stakes on a furious and frantic type of black metal; the song structure is plain and essential with the guitar playing eerie melodies. An important element is the vocals that ooze with evil. All in all, Grafvitnir's Death's Wings Widespread may not be the most original release in recent times, but it is very solid and effective and the production definitely enhances it: unpolished sound and natural, non-triggered drums. Everything is as it should be on an album of this type; in addition, the songs are captivating thanks to the aggressive riffing. In conclusion, the album is quite good, especially for those who are into occult themes and atmospheres.
