Three years after the EP Rite of Inverse Incantation, Roman Fides Inversa is back with a new full-length Historia Nocturna and with the ranks expanded with the new Swedish vocalist Wraath, active as Luctus in bands like Behexen, Mare, and former vocalist of One Tail, One Head, he certainly made an important contribution to make the album what it is. Historia Nocturna is a typical Fides Inversa album, relentless, furious, frenetic, while the riffing of guitarist Void is pounding as always, with some dissonance scattered here and there, backed by a fast drums work. Despite being well-made and also very spiritual in its frenzy, the album sometimes feels a little dull, but it does remain an album of excellent workmanship, and this must be underlined. Recommended.
