Faidra (Sweden): “Six Voices Inside”

​2020 seems to be a good year for black metal, hopefully, but one sure thing is that fans of atmospheric black metal will find their match. A few days ago the new single by Swedish Lustre was announced, and now I want to introduce you to Faidra, another Swedish atmospheric black metal band. Having said that, one must also say that the two bands are very different: while as of today the Lustre sound is richly characterized by synths, Faidra is more rooted in the extreme sound of black metal while maintaining an ethereal atmosphere. Faidra is a Swedish Atmospheric / Orthodox Black Metal only project that formed during late summer of 2019. The music is primarily inspired by Scandinavian Black Metal of the early 90s, with Burzum being perhaps the most prominent influence. The man behind Faidra has played in various bands of different genres since the late 90's, and for Faidra chose to keep his identity undisclosed in order to let the music speak for itself. The debut album Six Voices Inside is a wonderful album and I expect that we will hear about this band again. Masterpiece.
