Those who are eager to listen to experimental stuff will surely find their match. In fact, Escarre deliver post/avant-garde black metal with reminiscences from above all Ved buens ende mixed with post-rock and dark metal elements; sometimes it seems to hear even something of Ghost, especially in the singing style of vocalist Simon Carignan. The post-rock influence is also recognizable in the work of the guitars, which often tunctions as a backing to the synths; when riffing comes to the fore, the general atmosphere is more intense and, so to say, more traditional.
The Canadian trio's effort is remarkable, but the monochord, never changing, voice of the singer flattens everything and does not emphasize the slightly harsher moments to be found on the album. As a result, the album is not totally engaging in its entirety, but it is certainly a great achievement that is worth listening to.
