Deathspell Omega (France): “The Furnaces of Palingenesia”

Deathspell are undoubtedly the most important modern black metal band after they have revolutionized post-black metal. The French group is known for having deconstructed our idea of riff and black metal and recently released a new chapter of its unique and refined art, the seventh full length The Furnaces of Palingenesia with which Deathspell Omega once again prove to be the leading band in the field of avant-garde black metal. Every time they release a new album one thinks that they have reached the highest point in their work of breaking down our certainties, but then Deathspell Omega always manage to excel themselves and take another step forward. I would say that The Furnaces of Palingenesia is the best expression of the malaise of contemporary Western society, in particular, the crazy “You Cannot Even Find the Ruins closing ...”, in my opinion, the best track of the album. Unmissable masterpiece.
