Darkestrah (Kyrgyzstan): “Turan”

​This time let's talk about an exotic band, Darkestrah from the Republic of Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia, a fantastic band that I have followed for ling time. Darkestrah is a fantastic band that I started to follow long ago. Formed in 1999 in Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan, Darkestrah have now been settled in Leipzig, Germany, for many years, but their music is still inspired by the culture, the traditions, and the mythology of their homeland. Their latest album Turan is another masterpiece of folk black metal; if you have followed the band before, you will surely recognize several elements typical of the sound of Darkestrah, such as long songs, orchestral arrangements, and a poetic and profound atmosphere. The only drawback is perhaps a certain uniformity of tone, or repetitiveness if we want, that in the long run might make this album monotonous; nevertheless, I think that Turan by Darkestrah is a beautiful album that everyone should listen to.
