This is certainly one of the best bands in the last few years, but unfortunately also one of the most unacknowledged. How many of you know Chapter V: F10 from Ukraine? If you don't, you must absolutely listen to them. I myself acclaimed them on these pages five years ago for their first album Syndrome, and now I acclaim them again for their sophomore album Pathogenesis. Chapter V: F10 is a project of Astaroth Merc, founder and composer of black/doom metal project Raventale, and part in many other projects such as Deferum Sacrum, Balfor, and many more. Perhaps it's the black doom influence that enriches Chapter V: F10 music so much: it's powerful, brilliant, apocalyptic, and engaging. Above all, it is something new and fresh in my opinion, not the usual repetitive soup, a rare commodity in our day. The artwork, the cover with an atomic mushroom on it, the album title, but also the wonderful song “Blame to Human Beings” that begins with Chopin's Nocturne, suggest that the themes of this album revolve around man as evil and destructive creature of cosmic balance. Unmissable masterpiece.
