New Zealand's Barshasketh are increasingly gaining public attention with magnificent albums. Formed in 2007 in Wellington, the band relocated to Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2010 shortly after the release of their first album Defying the Bonds of Cosmic Thraldom. Now we need to talk about their fourth and latest self-titled album. Barshasketh is an impressive 8-song album that harmoniously conflates influences from different styles; sometimes it seems to me to even hear thrash metal and prog echoes beautifully blended together in a profound black metal sound. The New Zealand band also showcases excellent talents not only in composing but also in arranging the songs. In one word: masterpiece.
