I'm sure that many fans of extreme metal music know about an amazing one man black metal band from Søgne, Norway, called Arvas, formerly known as Örth and formed in Bergen in 1993 by V-Rex.
I am going to write about their new, fifth masterpiece Equanimity, released on November 1st, 2019 and I can personally say that it's one of my favorite releases from 2019 year.
With its powerful riffs and easily recognizable, deep, and dark lyrics, Equanimity creates a perfect circle of Darkness, Death, Nature, Anti-Christianity. With that being said chaos is completed:

Equanimity is fifth full length album and it has 10 songs:
1. Andante noire (intro)
2. Thoughts in Despair
3. Wastelands
4. Perception and Visions
5. Cursed by the Trident
6. Carven
7. My Devil
8. The Horned One
9. Times Gone
10. Masked Jackal

The first song is an intro that in my opinion is a perfect opening of the album. With its gloomy and yet catchy sound, it leads you all the way to the heart of darkness.
“Thoughts in Despair” is the second song on the album and it was written with the words of the worshiper. The main topic is the death, Satanism and worship.
“Wastelands” is a very energetic song; although it has the same theme as the previous one, it's different in many ways. The deep, dark voice perfectly matches both song name and lyrics; shortest song on the album.
“Perception and Visions” is about Satanism and godlessness where one feels the power of darker, higher forces over Christ and his glare. For its recognizable riffs this song just might be my favorite from this album.
“Cursed by the Trident” is the song that tells us a story about torture, rulers of hell and deaths as a sacrifice to the trident.
“Carven” is by the words of the author about how to act in a dark Madness and conquering love. I have to say that the music in this one is different and very easy to listen! Powerful, fast and, well I would dare to say PERFECT.
“My Devil” is, as I see it, a song about devotion to everything that a person is or believes in, but mostly devotion to himself, where man is the reason for everything that comes his way. At the beginning of the song the music reminds me of Iron Maiden’s “Wasted Years”, but in a faster and gloomier note. Love it!
“The Horned One” is about darkness, torture and, as the lyrics say, upholding the throne of the devil, superior in all, the hand of doom is on us all. This is the longest song on the album, slow but powerful in the beginning, then faster and more energetic.
“Times Gone” is a song with catchy and fast riffs and a deeper meaning.
“Masked Jackal” is the final song and as such it has both a different and enjoyable sound.

All in all I really enjoyed listening to and writing about Equanimity. After listening to it again and again I have realized that all the songs have their own weight and perfection. As I stated in the beginning Equanimity is the album that is placed on the very top of my personal list. It has everything, maturity as well as very high professionalism .
So if you are looking for perfection, quality and extremely good music Arvas’Equanimity is the album you don't want to miss, I can guarantee!
