Arna is a Spanish black metal duo from Barcelona, Catalonia, formed in 2019. Dragged to a Lunar Grave is their first release, a long EP or short album containing four songs and twenty-nine minutes of playtime. In the biography, Arna is described as being influenced by bands like Arckanum and Spectral Wound, as much as by the second wave. The band's favorite themes are death, rituals, personal despair, ancient deities, all intertwined to explain the introspective character of the human being as thinking and being tormented in all aspects of his life. That said, Arna's debut is not bad but not impressive either. The songwriting is decent, and although there are some good ideas, it mostly relies on stereotypes, which affects the album in a negative way. In conclusion, Dragged to a Lunar Grave lacks originality and is not the most interesting album you will hear in your life, but not the worst one either, so if you have twenty-nine minutes, give it a chance.
