The demo begins with the instrumental “Trough the Darkened Realm" and its quality is undeniable. Powerful music and lyrics are the things that for sure will bring Evil Oath to the hearts of black metal fans; the thematics of the lyrics revolves around the concept that religion is bad for human mind and spirit and that people sacrifice a lot to their believes and religion. My personal feeling about the whole demo is very positive and it is something that true black metal fans will enjoy. If we talk about the best song on the demo, I remain undecided; as I said, the quality and the effort put into the tracks are undeniable.
My favourite track is “Collaboration to Cleanse the Spirit and Mind From Faith" because it has powerful lyrics and music that almost can make listeners feel the energy of the band, and, by the words of M.C. Abagor, it was made as a sort of a statement and shows the believes of the band’s members. “March to the Gates of Hell” is energetic and one of the fastest tracks, while “Hell on Earth (1666)”, although very slow at the beginning, is one of the most powerful tracks on Anno 1666, with powerful riffs and deep vocals which sound as if they are coming from the very depths of hell. “Sacrifice” is as good as all the other tracks, deep vocals and powerful riffs. This demo was a very nice surprise for me and I enjoyed it very much, as I believe you will too. Anno 1666 is a refreshing demo and I am sure that people who listen to black metal music will enjoy it every second.
