As a soloist, Anamnesi has released three albums; it used to be atmospheric black metal, but with the latest album Erimanto Anamnesi has taken up a more straightforward direction, even though without abandoning the atmospheric elements of which you have a sample in the eponymous track or in the austere notes at the beginning of “Oltre la volta celeste”, in which the whisper of Anamnesi is backed by sublime female vocals. Immediately after this track, there is a decisive change of pace with two very harsher pieces like “(Sub)umano declino” and “Ad bestias!” in which it seems to hear reminiscences from early Dimmu Borgir and Dissection.
Generally speaking, Erimanto is an admirable synthesis of different approaches, you will find atmosphere, melody and harshness and it is an album that can really satisfy all tastes; those who want to know what the lyrics are about must learn Italian, if they do not already know it, because this is the language of all the lyrics. The production is definitely good, though perhaps the guitars could have been more brilliant. All in all, I am very proud to introduce you to this excellent solo project; recommended!
