Hello black metal brothers and sisters! There always are some nights better or worse than others, but night 03.03.2016 was extraordinary for every metal fan in Novi Sad.
That was the night when three amazing black metal bands started their tour.
I am talking about Sarkom (Norway), The Stone (Serbia) and Isvind (Norway). It was the concert that I was so eager to attend, so when that day finally arrived I was rushing to the venue.
The concert began little later than it should, because the Norwegian bands had a problem with their flight, it was delayed. The interesting detail is also that there were also fans from other countries who came to support and enjoy in the music of their favorite bands. Soon enough, everything was ready for the show to start.
The first band was Sarkom, a well-known Norwegian Black Metal band. Since Norway is the birth place of black metal, who could better heat up the venue than one of most significant bands in the Norwegian scene. Their performance was energetic and both the energy of the band and of the fans made the atmosphere fantastic. Singer Erik had a constant link with the audience and the audience responded extremely well. Sarkom succeeded, even with their “cold” music, to warm up the audience, and I can say that it was an amazing start of the concert. Corpse paint and excellent stage performance boiled the atmosphere and prepared the people for The Stone, the biggest and most accepted black metal band from Serbia.
The Stone are a well-known band to the Serbian audience, so most people in the venue came to listen to their music and I can say that their brilliant performance once again approved their reputation . Singer Nefas, as always, was holding the audience focused and satisfied, when suddenly the venue exploded when the band started the song “Nekroza” from the album with the same name. Most of the songs The Stone played were from Nekroza album, only two of them were from the older albums Sekao duboko, zakopao plitko and Prividjenja. The audience sang along and cheered every sound The Stone performed. Corpse paint, chains and the amazingly performed black metal music! Yes The Stone were here!
Isvind were the last band that performed and literally blew away the audience! Band of over 20 years long experience in the black metal scene, they literally bring back all the fans in the ‘90s and the very beginning of Norwegian black metal. The sound on their album Gud from 2015 is actually very similar in all stages to the rawest bands from that period. People however cheered the most their old songs. Singer Goblin held the audience on their feet all the time and his interaction with audience was outstanding. Songs like “Kast loss, brenn alt”, “Ordet” and almost all the rest have easily found their way to the people and their energy is undeniable. It was really great to see these guys together on the tour.
It was a good beginning of a tour and the bands made their fans remember it, because it was a night filled with sounds of pure black metal and dark energy flashing above us!
