Only one year after their latest album, The Ferocious Tides of Fate (2013), the Swedish band held a farewell concert in Stockholm; on that occasion, frontman Nephente explained in an interview with the undersigned the reasons for the disbandment. But the lure of music was too strong for Nephente & Company, and after only two years the band will release a new full-length on October 28 2016, The Grander Voyage on Black Lodge Records. The album will be preceded by two singles: Windwords to be released on July 8, and Pillars of the Sky to be released on September 30. The return is however official already today, June 28, since the band released today the videoclip “Windwards”, which you can watch below.
The album features Fredrik Widigs (Marduk, Nordjevel, ex-Demonical) on drums, who makes a brilliant performance showcasing his diversity and impeccable skill. Authentic production creates increased sound clarity and the lack of triggering adds a lot of presence to the experience.
All songs were Mastered by Sverker Widgren, a renowned veteran of sound engineering on the Scandinavian extreme metal scene (October Tide, IXXI, Diabolical etc). This is the first step to The Grander Voyage. Cover artwork: J. M. W. Turner (1775-1851) by permission from Tate Images.
