Now Demonaz has announced that Immortal will be back and are already working on new material. According to Blabbermouth, Demonaz and Horgh have stated the following: “Immortal never stopped; we just had to go through a long legal process before we could go out in the media with the news.”
“Immortal is much more than just a band, and much more than just a form of music. The departure of one member cannot change that, no matter. We will continue what we believe in, and the power of ‘Blashyrkh’ shall live on.”
(In the Nineties, Demonaz composed the lyrics about the realm of Blashyrk made of forests, winter, and fog; in this realm Abbath and Demonaz mirrored their feelings of isolation living in Bergen, Norway.)
The new album by Immortal will be released through Nuclear Blast. Some new songs on which they are working are titled
“Northern Chaos Gods”, “Called to Ice” and “Blacker of Worlds”. At the moment Abbath will not be part of the reunion of Immortal and will only continue with his new band. The line-up of Immortal consists currently only of Demonaz and Horgh.
