Gaahl, former singer of Gorgoroth and front-man of God Seed, has started a new project called Gaahls Wyrd. The lineup of this new band is still unknown, but it is offial that Gaahls Wyrd will debut live at Blekkmetal festival, to be hold in Bergen, Norway, on November 13-15.
Blekkmetal is a non-profit festival that’s both a tribute to True Norwegian Black Metal and a tattoo convention; the festival was an idea of Jannicke Wiese-Hansen, who was the author of the artwork to Satyricon’s and Burzum’s old albums. The lineup of the festival also features Enslaved, Taake, Aeternus, Helheim, Kampfar, Hades Almighty and Gehenna.
Asked about the performance of Gaahls Wyrd, Gaahl stated the followimg: “This festival is a tribute to the old days, therefore the focus will be on tracks that are from the past. I will bring along some Trelldom songs that have never been played before in a live setting, and I will bring in some Gorgoroth elements, but most likely I don’t think the setting for new songs is the correct one.”
