2017 has been a cursed year for extreme metal festival: after the disappearance of Blastfest in Bergen, another important festival has disappeared: Black Christmass in Norrköping. This festival was started in 2014, and this year’s edition should have been the fourth; Unholy Black Metal had always been present there for the past three editions which featured lots of great bands. The fourth edition, scheduled on December 15-16 should have hosted, among the others, bands like Abbath, Sodom, Belphegor, Tiamat, and Bölzer, and many more, but perhaps all these bands were not appealing enough. In fact, accordin to the organizers Skrikhult, the festival has been cancelled due to bad ticket sale, which was roughly the same reason for the cancellation of Blastfest.
But those of Skrikhult are stubborn guys, and they have decided to save their metal Christmas by launching another smaller Christmas festival called Saving Christmass, scheduled on December 15 at a much smaller venue called Arbis; five bands will tread the boards of the Arbis: Throne of Heresy, Tyranex, Merciless, Belphegor, Sodom. Sounds interesting? If so tickets are available here at the price of 555 SEK. We will see then if Saving Christmass will continue!
