Today the news of the passing of Alexi Laiho was made public by the management of his new band Bodom After Midnight.
According to official reports, Alexi died last week, but the date of his death has not yet been confirmed; he had suffered from health issues during his last years.
Alexi became an iconic musician in extreme metal music as the vocalist and virtuoso guitarist of the Finnish melodic death metal superband Children of Bodom, which was disbanded in December 2019; thereafter, he founded the new band Bodom After Midnight. He received several prizes and awards in his career for his music and as a guitarist. He died aged 41.
